This section of the MBBC between
Giants Seat Locks and the Horse Shoe Inn was filled in the early
60's during the construction of the Ringley Fold Waste Water
Treatment Works which was opened in 1964. The footpath had become
overgrown and has taken many months of hard work by BTCV, under
the direction of John Ellis, to restore. Work on the footpath
has been affected by the foot and mouth restrictions and it is
hoped that the section at the rear of the Waste water treatment
works will be completed this summer.
