Aqueduct the canal has been filled and grassed. New crossing
will be needed at Hall
Lane, Foggs
Aqueduct, Smithy
Bridge and Dam
Side.
The next section from Dam
Side to Burnden
Railway Viaduct is
partially filled. It is not clear if any restoration is possible
upstream of Bentley
Bridge because of
the construction of Bolton Inner Relief Road. The road was built
on the line of the canal destroying Bradford Road
Bridge and the Terminus
at Church
Wharf.
With the loss of the Bolton
Terminus it is not clear at what point the restoration should
finish. |
