Again very little is left of the old
Dam Side Aqueduct which was demolished in June 1965. The railway
viaduct still survives in the background. Local cricketer Harold
Wood won many a bet by throwing a cricket ball over both the
Canal Aqueduct and Railway Viaduct. |

A pier foundation is still visible
in the river. The Aqueduct was 91 yards long with 3 spans of
41ft 6 ins. The water was contained in a timber liner which was
sealed with puddle. |
