Creams Paper Mill

The warehouse building was built across the canal around 1950. The Paper Mill also acquired the section of canal from Nob End Bridge to Ladyshore Dam.

James Crompton started paper making on this site in 1677, over 100 years before the canal was built. The name "Creams" was adopted by Adam Crompton II which was said to describes the papers being made at the works.
