Since the erection of the
security fence around Rhodes Farm treatment site, Rhodes Lock
has slowly been consumed by undergrowth. The partially filled
lock is
supposed to be one of the best preserved locks on the canal.
During the winter months it is possible to see the scale and
quality of construction. Still surviving are the 200 years old
wrought iron railings.

filled with screenings from the treatment works. The security
fence on the left marks the line of the existing towing path.
