The section between East Ordsall Lane and the railway crossing has recently been reclaimed in preparation for the SnoWorld development.

The site clearance work included the demolition of the short Salford No1 tunnel and its portal.

It is not clear what condition Lock 3 and the canal is in below the fill material or if they still exist.

In 1948 Lock 3 was regated using the top gates from Prestolee lower staircase locks.
