Lumn's Lane Aqueduct

3.67 miles

A-Z 80 B2

Access from Lumn's Lane

The arch was demolished to allow better access to a waste water treatment plant. Part of the existing two brick arch and a concrete supply pipe are still visible.

The dry section that runs along the boundary of M.E.L. The section from Lumn's Aqueduct to Hoggs bridge was drained in 1939 as preventative measures for the M.E.L. plant should the canal be breached by enemy bombs. A concrete pipe was laid in the bed to maintain a supply of water to the rest of the Salford section.
